To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of American rock pioneer Bruce Springsteen's iconic album Born in The USA, Townsend Music has one limited edition copy to give away. This special edition comes in translucent red vinyl and expanded packaging with new liner notes penned by Erik Flannigan and a four-colour lithograph.
Originally released in June 1984, Born In The USA was Bruce Springsteen's seventh studio album. It was recorded in New York and became one of the most notable rock and roll albums with its more pop-influenced sound than previous Springsteen releases.
In 2012, Born In The USA was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame and has appeared on lists of the greatest albums of all time from the likes of Rolling Stone and NME.
The album artwork has been regarded as one of the best covers ever with a picture of Springsteen standing in front of the American flag, taken by Annie Leibovitz. The album covers topics of working-class struggles, disillusionment, patriotism and personal relationships.
The record includes the singles 'Dancing In The Dark', 'Born In The USA', 'I'm on Fire' and 'Glory Days'. Before its release, it was intended for just two single releases, however over half a dozen were released which helped the album amass sales of over 30 million copies and is one of the best-selling albums of all time.
