Despite leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1967 amidst mental health and drug problems, Peter Green was a figurehead in the foundations of one of rock's most enduring acts. Shortly before the 2020 lockdown, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood staged an ambitious tribute concert for Peter, featuring a galaxy of stars for a one-of-a-kind event including Billy Gibbons, David Gilmour and Noel Gallagher.
With the concert taking place on 25th February 2020 at the London Palladium, Mick explained: “The concert is a celebration of those early blues days where we all began, and it’s important to recognize the profound impact Peter and the early Fleetwood Mac had on the world of music." On Monday (19th April) evening, ITV News At Ten covered the concert with an interview with Mick Fleetwood and footage from the event.
"The longer it went on, the more I realised that the beginning might be forgotten" - Mick Fleetwood
